Abstract:
The China market has been acknowledged as one of the key emerging leisure markets in the world. This paper provides an overview of the China outbound travel market, and combines the findings from latest attitudinal studies on Chinese tourists. In particular a closer look is taken at the Chinese outbound travellers' luxury goods shopping behaviour, and their attitudes towards overseas destinations. The paper finishes with a discussion on methodology issues on conducting travel research in China.
