Abstract:
The Euro-Barometer surveys have played an important role in facilitating the analysis of political and social change. By providing a relatively long time series of cross-nationally consistent measures of mass orientations toward key subjects, this research program has made it possible to gain new insight into the evolution of a sense of European identity, the quality of life in Western societies, and cultural change. To illustrate this point, some recent findings are presented.
