Abstract:

If you were born after 1980, then you are someone who has grown up in the Information Age. Millennials (or Generation Y), Generation Z and Generation Alpha are often called ?digital natives? as they have grown up with access to technology and digital information, and are proficient using electronic devices and platforms such as mobile phones, laptops, video games, streaming services, iCloud applications and social media. Technology is integral to a digital native?s way of life. Marc Prensky who coined the term ?digital native? in 2001, concluded that due to the highly frequent interactions digital natives have with technology, they have developed a completely different way of thinking. He believed pathways and thinking patterns had evolved as repeated exposure to technology was helping to grow and stimulate certain parts of the brain, while other less stimulated parts were reducing in size.
