Abstract:
Access to digital resources has become a vital enabler of education, employment, healthcare and social well-
being in today's world. However, the digital divide remains a persistent barrier for marginalised communities,
leaving many without the means to access these opportunities. Recognising this gap, the JUMP programme
was launched as an innovative and socially impactful initiative aimed at fostering digital inclusion across the
Caribbean. JUMP, developed in partnership with local governments and supported by the Cable & Wireless
Charitable Foundation (CWCF), provides affordable internet, free laptops and digital training to vulnerable
households. The programme?s mission is simple yet profound: to bridge the digital divide, empower
underserved communities and create opportunities for a better future. This paper explores the transformative
impact of JUMP in St. Lucia, a nation marked by significant socioeconomic challenges?yet with an incredible
will to advance?and highlights its ability to drive progress through connectivity.
