Abstract:
This paper discusses recent British experience of action research in government sponsored community action programmes, (Community Development Projects and EEC sponsored Community Resource Centres). It points to the common view which dismisses action research as a failure in this field, hut argues the need for a more realistic and less pessimistic assessment.
