Abstract:
In this paper mobile computer-assisted self-interviewing, MCASI, is tested with users of GPRS phones. The test participants were recruited from a national representative panel by TNSGallup in Norway. The users of the mobile survey were asked to give feedback and their views on how they perceived this new survey method. The non-participants also answered a follow-up questionnaire regarding why they did not participate. Of the two tests, the short and simple mobile survey (MCASI 1) functioned much better than the more advanced mobile survey (MCASI 2). For the market research community the results are promising - some of the users of the mobile survey even preferred this new method to surveys on the Internet.
