Abstract:

This paper discusses how an innovative use of the online bulletin board research tool allowed one moderator to conduct 142 individual Internet interviews over a three-day period. The case study documents how a hybrid online methodology provided a time-efficient and cost-effective means of serving dual (i.e., qual-quant) objectives in evaluating a series of alternative positioning concepts designed to expand perceptions of a university's expertise among multiple constituencies.
