Abstract:
ESOMAR, as the global voice for the data, insights, and market research industry, has been guiding the industry in the undeniable challenging times that the world has been going through for a number of weeks now. This report is another effort to better understand the extent of the impact the pandemic is having on the industry.
The market generally is (understandably) suffering from a considerable degree of uncertainty; many sectors (such as Travel and Tourism) have been hit exceptionally hard, and therefore have stopped all investment and expenditure; others such as eCommerce and Logistics are experiencing unexpected growth, due to an increased demand for online products. The same pattern can be seen within our profession, with certain companies enjoying wholly unanticipated demand, whereas the majority are having to manage a considerably weaker revenue stream than forecasted.
