Moving beyond generalizations: New research approaches to understand the impact of the Internet on user lives and experiences. This presentation talks about the collaborative research designed by Telkom Kenya and Loon that addresses these challenges. The study is unique in its design since we went beyond the typical methodologies and created a mixed design study employing both quantitative and qualitative approaches, as well as analysis of small data alongside big data. The role of the qualitative phase is to understand consumer lifestyles before and after connectivity is provided through Telkom Kenya and Loon.
