Abstract:

Efficient management today must try to strike a three-way balance between the demands of the shareholders, the employees, and the public. As we move from the industrial into the post- extravagant society, new criteria will have to be applied to industry's numerous activities. The various technologies capable of meeting these criteria in the field of medical information are largely to hand but only more and better homework by industry can now put theory into practice. This paper aims at generating interest for what may turn out to be one of the major challenges to the pharmaceutical industry, where the prospects more than match the problems.
