Abstract:
This paper explains how a new standardized Norm-based television program Quality evaluation Index (NQI) research method has been formulated and utilized to assess television program quality and research in Korea. Traditionally audience rating has been an important program evaluation index, but it is not exactly about the television program quality; indeed it is only about the program's popularity in the television audience market. Recently Net Intelligence Korea developed a new evaluation tool. This paper addresses two issues: how NQI deals with methodological problems that others could not overcome, and how it works, with case studies.
