Abstract:
This paper attempts to show the merits of XML as a representation for survey tables. These merits are based largely on the qualities of XML as a document notation and on the quality of XML tools. The intended audience is people with some awareness of XML and curiosity about its applications for survey research. The paper describes the experience with applying XML technology in complex survey reporting applications.
