Abstract:
For reasons of economy and efficiency Shell plan to streamline the network of petrol stations in the British Isles over the next ten years, reducing the number of sites by up to 50%. This operation has been successfully carried out in Germany with Shell maintaining their original and planned volume of business. The basic objective was to identify the flow of business at certain sites which would assist- together with other marketing information available to Shell - in indicating where the logical sites should be.
