Abstract:
This paper provides insights related to the attitudes that Arab Internet users hold towards the Internet, their behaviour, and the 'net culture' that seems to be evolving in the Middle East, and is based on data drawn mainly from specially commissioned quantitative research. It explores the emerging Arab net-user community at the micro level to identify segments that appear to be surfacing in what has been until now a seemingly homogeneous mass. It ascertains the size of each of the segments, provides a description of their profile, and identifies attitudinal and behavioural characteristics that distinguish the segments from each other.
