Abstract:
BBC Media Action is implementing a European Union-funded project aimed at helping young men and women within the ages of 18-24years in Nigeria to better understand political and electoral issues, encouraging them to discuss these issues and in turn strengthening their participation in political processes. The EU funded project utilizes a unique 'social media first' approach to deliver on its objectives, which means creating youth-friendly content that address project themes in an interesting and engaging manner, for broadcast on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. This research incorporated quantitative Computer Assisted Telephone Interview survey technique and participatory qualitative methods for data collection.
