Abstract:

This paper discusses the general state of survey research in Egypt, with emphasis on public opinion surveys. It discusses, after reviewing the development of survey research, survey priorities, public opinion surveys, some methodological considerations in opinion survey research, the link between survey research and policy formulation, and the need to develop research network within the developing countries as well as with the developed ones.
