Abstract:
This paper describes how research helped The Environment Agency to better understand the public's attitudes to domestic waste disposal and the public's willingness and ability to help the government (both local and national) to implement more sustainable waste management policies. It draws on data relating to the structure and scale of waste management issues in Britain and a series of research studies undertaken among householders and local authorities.
