Abstract:

The aim of this report is to describe the main factors which will determine the growth of the plastics industry in Europe during the next few years. For this purpose, and using examples taken from the fertiliser, synthetic rubber, plastics and artificial fibre industries. We shall deal successively with: - the European chemical industry in 1966; - the main factors influencing its future growth; - the influence exercised on forecasts by action taken by companies.
