Abstract:
This paper discusses the importance of quality control in the holiday market and shows a system, dependent on research, in operation in Thomson Holidays, the largest UK tour operator. Adequate quality control depends on being able to specify the standards or elements the product should have. The purpose of this paper is to show how an extensive and continuing programme of research over several years has been used to bring some order into the potential chaos.
