Abstract:
In the fight against climate change, the holy grail is net zero carbon emissions. Reaching net zero by 2050 will require dramatic, tangible changes for which Canadians are ill-prepared. At the same time, the challenge of biodiversity loss risks being overlooked in the focus on climate change. Policymakers and communicators need to know what aspects of the proposed solutions are polarising to the public, and where opportunities to build new constituencies of support for transformative change lie.
