Abstract:
This paper outlines the results of some fundamental research into consumers' attitudes to energy conservation, and to future energy sources and products. The research was conducted via a series of eight group discussions with consumers in Britain. The composition of the groups was designed to reflect the variety of housing types and forms of tenure. Illustrated concept boards were used to portray future energy scenarios, energy saving and solar energy products, new solar housing designs, community heating and insulation schemes, sources of finance for energy saving, and new sources of energy.
