Abstract:
This paper describes a method of using the computer, as a stage of the checking process, to look for interviewers, who have cheated or deviated from the specified instructions. The method is simple and has often been recommended, but to our knowledge has rarely been implemented. The principle is that answers from the completed questionnaires should be analysed by interviewer, so that the work of any interviewer giving different or unusual results can be checked further.
