Abstract:
Research can measure the effectiveness of women's empowerment initiatives in the Muslim world economies. It has a role to play in quantifying international program assumptions about Muslim women's desires, hopes and experiences. Many fundamental assumptions made about Muslim women today are correct, but much more nuanced that often suggested. This is particularly the case when it comes to getting social, cultural and legal reform right. Research has a role to play in informing excellent public policy-making by giving Muslim women a voice to express their experiences with current approaches to advancing their prosperity and happiness.
