Abstract:
Spray disinfectants are as yet unknown in the UK market, although they are used very widely in the US and a spray disinfectant has been on the Germany market for two to three years. A program of research has been planned in the UK and Belgium to assess the potential for such a product. This preliminary research was undertaken in the UK A U.S. product, Lysol Spray Disinfectant was used to show respondents to illustrate the concept of a spray disinfectant. The objectives of the research were:
1. To evaluate reaction to the concept of a spray disinfectant;
2. To establish the relative importance of different product claims - as a basis for product positioning;
3. To establish likely usage areas/usage frequency to establishing whether a spray is a substitute for a liquid disinfectant or whether there is room for both;
4. To ascertain whether there is potential enough to continue with development plans.
