Rowntree Mackintosh has developed two potential countlines:
1. A chocolate-covered lemon bar with fruit and nuts;
2. A ginger bar, similar to a Mars bar.
The objectives of this research were:
1. To obtain consumer responses to the lemon bar and ginger bar as new product possibilities, covering the normal research checklist for new confectionery products;
2. To explore the possible concepts for the products of potential areas for the development of future countlines.
