Towards better predictive programming

Date of publication: September 17, 2006

Abstract:

The authors argue that most predictive research methodologies are geared at reducing the number of variables needed for modeling and looking for direct causal relations. However, taking less direct causal elements into consideration and generating a better understanding can also create strong predictive research approaches. The paper reviews current evolution in the communications field, then defines the playing field for the creation of better television programming, and finalizes with development of a system for generating contextual relevant engagement patterns that enable behavioral prediction rooted in an understanding of human nature.
