Abstract:

This paper reviews the pioneering research done by China's independent public opinion research in the country's governmental public service assessment and related research subjects. In an attempt to specify the role of independent public opinion research, and their explorations, changes and contributions made to the larger society, this paper predicts the future trends of independent public opinion research in this dramatically changing society. In this paper, governmental studies mainly cover the topics in the establishment and implementation of governmental policies, including public policies, collection of public opinions and assessment studies on governmental performance and construction.
